Mindfulness

The concept of mindfulness is more than just about being aware of sensations and perceptions in the moment, it is also about creating space for positive activities to help relieve stress and develop positive neural networks.

A simple and effective exercise to practice mindfulness is the 5 senses grounding technique. Look around and notice 5 things that you can see, 4 things that you can feel, 3 things that you can hear, 2 things that you can smell, and 1 thing that you can taste.

This grounding technique engages your senses and can help to interrupt anxious thoughts or overthinking. Allow space for your thoughts to flow without judgement while bringing your awareness back to the present moment.
