Rest is productive 🖤

Rest is so underrated, yet so important. The ability to just be in a world that seems to be always rushing and fast paced is deeply undervalued. I've been trying to make a habit of incorporating more rest into my lifestyle where I am able to fully relax and be guilt free.

Rest looks different for each person and that's okay!

What feels restorative to one person may not work for another. No one is the same and each person with their unique personalities and traits may have different ideas of what rest looks like. Some people may love baking or crafting, others may find joy in reading a book or doing a puzzle, it may look like going for a walk or spending time in the garden, or maybe your idea of rest is getting cozy in bed with your favourite snacks to watch a movie. Whatever rest looks like for you, it is important that it feels restorative and allows you to shut your mind off and disconnect from the busyness of life. Rest doesn't mean doing nothing but actively and intentionally helping your body and mind recover to build inner strength, resilience and restore balance. Take notice of what brings you peace, calm and reenergizes yourself.

Whether you are taking rest and recovery from working out or day to day life, rest is necessary to keep you from burning out.

  • Prioritize quality sleep
  • Stay hydrated
  • Maintain balanced nutrition
  • Incorporate recovery strategies: low-intensity movement, massage, cold plunge, stretching
